"Roan" horses have coats that are a mixture of colored and white hairs on the body, while the head, lower legs, mane and tail—are mostly solid-colored. The strawberry roan, or chestnut roan, is a mixture of reddish-brown and white hairs. The term "strawberry roan" is an old term, but in itself, the title is colorful. The painting has been selected for the 2025 Cowgirl Gathering art exhibition and will be available through Cowgirl Artists of America. Please contact the artist for more information.
